His clinical practice includes all aspects of hand and wrist surgery, as well as peripheral nerve surgery and microsurgery, treating patients of all ages, from infants to older adults. He has special expertise in the treatment of pediatric hand conditions, reconstructive surgery for arthritic and traumatic disorders of the hand and wrist, vascular disorders, as well as upper extremity nerve disorders.

Our regional guest speaker is Dr Nicholas Smith, He has particular interest in advanced wrist arthroscopic techniques, including arthroscopic bone grafting for scaphoid non-union, arthroscopic management of wrist ligament deficiency, arthroscopic partial wrist fusion and arthroscopic reduction of intra-articular distal radius fractures. However, he enjoys helping patients, young and old, with all kinds of common hand, wrist and nerve problems.

Our local invited speaker is Dr Michael Thomas, hand and upper limb surgeon from the Gold Coast University Hospital

In addition to the invited presentations, the scientific program will include panel discussions on challenging wrist and hand problems. The meeting is an opportunity for local surgeons and therapists to present scientific papers on their clinical and research work and to debate clinical issues relevant to hand surgeons and therapists. Hand therapists will have dedicated time for a one-on-one with the visiting Professors to discuss therapy techniques used in their respective centres. The meeting is accredited by the Australian Orthopaedic Association and attendees will be awarded CPD hours for the meeting
